Rock me Amadeus - a touch of class
Mixed choir Rock me Amadeus was founded in 2005 and has grown into a friendly and ambitious choir in Delft. The ensemble works hard in a good atmosphere. The name Rock me Amadeus is derived from the hit song "Rock me Amadeus" by Austrian singer Falco and refers to the repertoire: music at the intersection of classical and pop.
Pop and classical
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, Tears for Fears' Sowing the Seeds of Love, as well as works by Philip Glass, Kurt Weill, and Frank Zappa are part of the group's standard repertoire. Popular classical works such as Mozart's Ave Verum, Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine, and Franck's Panis Angelicus are also on the repertoire list. In addition, good Dutch pop and Dutch-language listening songs are also covered.
Concerts
Rock me Amadeus regularly performs concerts in Delft, usually in the Lutheran Church, which is their home base. In the past, Rock me Amadeus has performed a number of concerts for good causes, including Inloophuis Debora, Mappa Mondo, and Stichting Opnieuw. For the past few years, the choir has been singing in various nursing homes as part of the "Rock me with care" project.
